This past weekend our family spent some time together in Chattagnooga (Ansleigh could never remember the name so she kept referring to Chattanooga as Chatty-ago. That girl keeps us laughing with her Ansleigh-isms!)
I will be honest and say that Alan pretty much drug me kicking and screaming. I really didnt want to go (knowing that this money could go toward our adoption even though it had already been saved in our vacation account), but I'm so glad we did.
My families love language is going to new places and experiencing new things together. It has been pretty intense around here lately, with Alan working long hours and me being consumed by my responsibilities and our adoption. We desperately needed to get away and spend some intentional time together.
We went to Chickamauga Battlefield, Ruby Falls (Ansleigh kept calling it Crystal Cave-another Ansleigh-ism that I find precious) , ate at Clumpies (even though it was freezing outside! I guess its never too cold for ice cream!),picnicked and played at Coolidge park (again in the freezing cold), ate at Mojo Burritoes and explored Red Clay State Park.
My poor shug (Anna Grace) broke out in hives on day 2 and day 3. She is fine now but it made for a miserable trip home.
It was a great trip and so needed! I loved every minute of it! Chatanooga is now one of my favorite places (that area is rich in history!) and we will definitely go back! What are some of your favorite places to go as a family?
